Cornwall is a great county to visit. It is located at the South West corner of England. Its location guarantees it some of the best weather in England. The current from the Gulf Stream ensures that Cornwall often has the best temperatures in the UK. Sure Cornwall also has some bad weather such as that which saw Boscastle almost swept into the sea. A visit to Cornwall though is not dependent entirely on the weather. This county has so much to offer.

Part of the southern coastal side of Cornwall has been called the Cornish Riviera for many years though, due to its wonderful climate.

Cornwall covers an area of approximately 3,563 square kilometres. Not very large for a County when you come to think about it. For all that it is one of the most popular holiday regions of England and has plenty of diversity.
  • If you want to try the best surfing in England then Cornwall is for you.
  • Fancy beautiful sandy beaches? Cornwall has golden sandy beaches aplenty.
  • Breathtaking scenery abounds in Cornwall.
  • Historical sites, museums and art galleries are scattered throughout Cornwall.
  • Birth place and home of the legendary King Arthur, mystery and intrigue will keep you entertained.
In fact Cornwall can offer almost anything a tourist may want. The Cornish Riviera refers to an area on the south coast of Cornwall. This area is lush and green. The beautiful countryside runs down to the coast where there are many small inlets and beaches. It is a perfect area to base yourself so that you can explore Cornwall fully. Water-sports, fishing and sailing are popular activities here.

Check out:-
  • Caerhayes Castle
  • St Austell
  • Mevagissey and the Eden Project
  • Portmellon
  • Gorran Haven
The Cornish Riviera has a mild climate and it is usual to see unusual plants growing outdoors. By unusual I mean plants that would find it hard to flourish in other parts of England where the temperatures may be less kind. The Cornish Riviera though only refers to a small part of Cornwall. Each part of this beautiful county has something to offer. Base yourself on the Cornish Riviera and have fun exploring this small but beautiful part of England.
  • Accommodation - If you do not want to stay in a hotel opt for a Bed and Breakfast establishment. Better still, especially if there will a few people travelling im your group hire a cottage.
  • Cornwall is easy to travel to. There are coach, bus and rail links from around the country.
  • If you prefer you can fly into Newquay airport, which is on the on the northern side of Cornwall, from one of the London Airports such as Gatwick.
  • Exeter in Devon has an international airport.
  • Cornish people have a charming accent which can be a little hard to understand. Listen carefully though and you should be fine.
  • Cornish Clotted Cream, Cornish Ice Cream and Cornish Pasties are available all over Cornwall. Cornish Clotted Cream can be taken home or ordered online.
Finally remember that although Cornwall can experience great weather it is still in England. This means that the weather will possibly be unpredictable no matter what time of year. Perhaps if the weather turns nasty a visit to the Eden Project would be the best option. Of course you may want to visit this venue whether it is good weather or not.

Cornwall is a perfect destination for all ages although it is hilly in parts. This means that visitors with mobility issues need to select their destination carefully.
